Sun on the Snow
February in Montréal is supposed to be the deep of midwinter. It’s supposed to be cold, a good hearty -15oc at least – snow on the ground nice and white – oh yes February weather in Montréal.
What do we have instead? Rain. Wet rain. It’s busy washing the snow away and leaving what’s left a nasty brown colour.
On the flip side, there is also a heat wave. The temperature is slightly above freezing, so you can wonder around outside without a coat. This is definitely not typical weather for Montréal in February.
Typical average weather in Montréal in February -
- Min -15oc
- Max -5oc
- Rainfall 19.8mm
- Snowfall 434mm
- Extreme daily snowfall 390mm – this occured in 1954
